Special variations on Standard products (Standard-Specials)

 

This actuator has been generated as a standard. The customer makes required changes to provide an Engineered-to-Order, Standard-Special product for his application.

The ability to change items is controlled through rules/specifications set by the manufacturer in the program.

 

The standard rod thread is 1.125" long. The customer requires 2.25". The rod stick-out is .63" the customer requires 1.18". The clevis mounting hole is .752" diameter, the customer requires a .95" hole.

 

 

The customer uses the "Specials" tool to active the associative change menu on a selected component. They enter the changes required. This is controlled by a specification rules base set by the manufacturer. Only changes to permitted components, within dimensional specifications are allowed.

 

 

After the required changes are entered the "OK" button is clicked. The drawing regenerates, associatively with the required changes.

 

 

The customer now has the required product drawing and CAD file for instant insertion into his design CAD (MCAD) system.

Clicking onto the RFQ button will generate an automatically filled out e-RFQ which attaches the changed drawing file and notes the variable changes as a Standard-Special product. This information is e-mailed directly to the manufacturer for a quote.
